Director’s message

The Centre for Student Counselling and Development extends a warm word of welcome to the readers of this page. The Centre dates back to 1971. Staffing: The staff members of the Centre comprises of psychologists registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in various registration categories.

Secretary: The Secretary serves as both receptionist and admin officer. Students & Clients report to her office to make an appointment to see a psychologist.

Peer Counsellors: Peer Counsellors are sophomores, third year and senior students in the various study directions who are carefully selected and trained to serve as an extension staff of the Centre.

Clientelle: The clientelle of the Centre comprise of the following components: University students, University staff, various departments and units of the university, private and public sector institutions, NGOs as well as the general public.
